First Child – Best before 30

Ask a couple in their mid-20s, if they are planning to have a child before they turn 30, their answer would most be probably be “babies can wait, career comes first”. This mindset, has got to be changed as it is proven that the chances of developing unwanted complications in pregnancy is higher if you choose to give birth after 30. According to Professor (Dr) Tay Eng Hseon, President of Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS) the best time for childbearing is from the early years of 20. And that was the message that gynaecologists and volunteers wanted to put across as they celebrated the stories of six successful mothers in the Super Mom awards, organised jointly by Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS) and the I Love Children Movement and sponsored by Abbot’s Similac Follow-On milk. The winners will also receive a pampering spa package from Rustic Nirvana.
