FAMILY HEALTH ARTICLES We All Live on Water Drinking water everyday in the morning can help to detoxify and “wake up” the system. After all, 70 per cent of our bodies are made up of water. It helps with the easy flow of urination and perspiration. Sung Mei Ling (wife of the late Chinese Kuomintang leader Chiang Jie Shi), who is now at the ripe old age of 100, supports this theory. Never wait till you are thirsty before you think of drinking water because, by then, you are already dehydrated. Drinking 2,500 millilitres (six to eight glasses) of water a day will replenish the water that our body needs and help with the metabolic system, reducing the formation of kidney stones. Drinking a glass of water before you sleep can lower your blood density and reduce the chance of having a stroke at night. |
