Have you ever been exasperated by someone who picks at every small detail while you’re admiring the overall success of a piece of work? Chances are, you have been witnessing brain dominance at work. Brain dominance is based on a theory, developed in the 1960s and 1970s by Dr Roger Sperry, that our left brain and right brain function differently from each other. Each ‘side’ has a different amount of influence on our rational thinking processes. Whichever side appears to have more impact our rational thinking is said to be dominant. |
